Link preview add-on for Firefox: see any page before you open it
Last updated October 24, 2026 · 3 min read

Firefox doesn’t preview links on its own on desktop. Hovering shows the address in the bottom corner, and that’s it. A link preview add-on fills the gap: with Peekly installed, resting on a link opens the real page in a panel over the one you’re on.
Set it up
- Open Peekly’s page on Firefox Add-ons and click Add to Firefox.
- Accept the permissions prompt. Peekly needs to read the links on a page to preview them.
- Hover any link for about half a second, or press and hold it.
Search results
On Google, Bing and DuckDuckGo, Peekly adds a small card under each result with the page’s image and details, so you can tell which result is worth opening before you open any of them. Click a card to read the page in the preview and use the arrows to move to the next result.
Changing how it behaves
In Settings you can change the hover delay, switch hover off and keep only press-and-hold, pick a card theme, or choose the card layout. Turn on dark mode for previewed pages if you browse at night.
