A free link preview extension for Chrome, Edge and Brave

Peekly is a free link preview extension for Chrome. It does two things. On Google, Bing and DuckDuckGo it adds a card under each result with the page’s real image, title and details. And on any website, resting on a link opens the live page on top of the one you’re reading, so you never open a new tab just to check something.
What you get, free
- Preview cards on Google, Bing and DuckDuckGo results.
- Hover or press-and-hold any link to open the real page in a panel.
- Arrows to step through results without closing the preview.
- YouTube videos that play inside the preview, and a floating player you can keep on screen.
- A dark mode for previewed pages, and themes for the cards.
- Two card layouts: image first, or title first with the image underneath.
Install it
- Open the Chrome Web Store page for Peekly and click Add to Chrome.
- Search for anything on Google. Cards appear under the results on their own.
- Rest the pointer on any link, on any site, to open its preview.
Edge, Brave, Opera and Vivaldi all install Chrome extensions from the same store, so the steps are the same there. There is also a Firefox version on Firefox Add-ons.
Does it slow the browser down?
Cards only load for results you can see or are about to scroll to, and pages are fetched straight from your own browser, not through a server. Outside search results, nothing is fetched until you rest on a link.
